Welcome back, everyone,

Ready to "fall" in love with some new favorites?

It's day two and do we have some indie favorites for you! Though I have only recently discovered indie books, they are very near and dear to my heart. As an indie author myself, I understand and appreciate the time and dedication they take to write and publish. It is certainly no easy feat. Many of my fellow bloggers are also indie authors so make sure to check their books out. Let's give them all a round of applause, šŸ‘šŸ»!

And of course you wouldn't, but don't forget to amble over to the rest of Team Oaks Blogs šŸ˜‰.

{Rhys}Ā šŸŽ» {Hannah}Ā šŸ‚ {Savannah} 🌰 {Cate} šŸš— {Bethany} 🄧

{RebekahĀ (One of our lovely cohosts}

and of course our host and the blog hub- Kate Willis!

šŸ‚ As Long as I BelongĀ by Sarah Holman šŸ‚

What could be a better way to start the day of a fall blog party than with a contemporary fall twist on Mansfield Park. I've recently discovered that I love books that are inspired by classics. As Long as I belong is even sweeter and softer than the original. I felt so sorry for Annalise, but I'm glad she found that love isn't conditional, and that she did belong.

The Prayer Garden by Kelsey Bryant

I love that this book was inspired by The Secret Garden as it was a childhood favorite of mine. Colin was such a shy, sweet guy. I love the themes of finding faith alongside honoring our grandparents. And what could be a better place for praying that a beautiful prayer garden!

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

🪻Lilac by Madisyn Carlin 🪻

Blueberry Muffins, darling goats with a side of stinker, a cute golden puppy- there is so many things I loved about this book. The grandma spy, the cousin's banter, all the purples: the list could go on and on. I thought it was really neat the way Madisyn retold The Plain Princess with nods to Little Red Riding Hood. The central theme of finding your identity not from without, but from Christ really encouraged me make sure I am founding my own identity in Him. I definitely can't recommend this book enough to do it justice. I guess you'll have to read it for yourself 😁.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Age Recommendation: 16+

CW: The wolf attack was a little violent, but minimal description

šŸŖ Pearl & the Baker by Sienna Peake šŸŖ

I think that Sienna is my most recently discovered indie author. I am an Austin lover, so regency plus fairy tale retellings, yes please. I love all the little "breadcrumbs" alluding to Hansel & Gretel (frosted cottage, anyone?), but how it's its own unique tale. I don't know why to me it seems odd to have a man baker, but I love it. Rowan is such big softie. After Mr. Knightly, I think he is my favorite MC. Also, I love the sibling bond between Pearl & Henry, it is so cute. Pearl was lovely as well. I'm glad she finally realized that we sometimes need to rely on others, and that it's not a bad thing.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Age Recommendation: 16+

CW: Just to note, but this book leaned a little more toward almost being 18+, as there was quite a bit of dwelling on how touches felt.

🌾Tomorrow's Promise by Bethany Klassen 🌾

This book is actually pretty special to me because I actually know the author personally. Bethany is such an amazing writer, and I hope she continues writing for a long time to come as I've enjoyed reading all her books. Tomorrow's Promise is a sequel, but I believe it can also stand on its own. I was definitely happy that Matt became sheriff again, but the ending certainly scared me for a bit. I loved Nathan, it was sweet how he liked Hazel, but never pushed that on her. I loved Hazel the newest character of the bunch. She had such a strong faith, and she was so sweet and kind to her poor cousins. Also, the description in this book is phenomenal. I love, love, love the hidden glade on the ranch.

My Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Age Recommendation: 16+

CW: Murder, Slight abuse- all was super lightly described though.

Aw, thank you for including The Prayer Garden! I am so glad it resonated with you. :)

As Long as I Belong ... ooh, that's one of my favorites, too. I've enjoyed all of Sarah Holman's books.

I haven't read the final three, but they all sound great! I love the covers for Lilac and Pearl & the Baker.
