Hello Fall Fun Fans,
Today we have five non-fiction *Waaait š¤, do I have any of thoseš ?* Seriously though, this might be harder than I thought. I don't read much for non-fiction. Maybe that stems from the time I tried reading a 300 page book about Pizzaro & the Incas for school for a book report that should have take me a day, but ended up taking more like three weeks. It may have just been the most boring book on earth- definitely don't recommend that one š . Well, lets forget about that because I do have good news that I did find five books for you today.
Hopefully, my fellow Oak bloggers
{RebekahĀ (One of our lovely cohosts}
had the same luck š.
And our co-host- Ā Kate Willis!
Disclaimer: This is not a blanket statement for every book recommended by the other bloggers.

My Top 5 Non-Fiction Books

šOutlining your Novel by K.M. Weiland š
Yes, yes, and yes. This book is for writers, I found it help full to me obviously since I'm an author, and I actually found it hard to put down. K.M Weiland has a very engaging way of writing, and she convinced me to first start outlining. Though I am a pantser by nature, and my outlines fit the definition of minimalist, they have helped to improve my drafting process.
My Rating: āāāāā
Age Recommendation: 16+ (No there isn't any romanceš¤£, I just don't know any eight year-olds who would be interesting in the outlining process.)

šStructuring your Novel by K.M. Weiland š
I really loved Weiland's approach, again. Especially the tips for starting a story and pacing a story. Definitely a book I would recommend to all aspiring authors.

šļøDouglas Macarthur: What Greater Honor by Janet & Geoff Benge šļø
"Old soldiers never die, they just fade away." Macarthur is one of my favorite heroes of history. I was extremely surprised and excited that the man truly responsible for victory against Japan seemed to be a man of faith. I do wish that Truman had seen him for the man he really was. A man sold out for freedom.

šŖRunning to Win: The Story of Eric Liddell by Ellen Caughey šŖ
Oh, this Christian man's life has been so inspiring to me. When I was younger remember reading a different book on him, but not liking it because he died. Now though that I've grown older, I see the testimony of a life lived wholeheartedly for God. I desired to serve God as Eric did, to keep striving for the priceless, eternal riches in Christ Jesus rather than the temporary pleasures of the world.
Bonus Fact: Did you realize that last year marked exactly 100 years from when Eric ran and won in the 1924 Paris Olympics?Ā

š»Clarence Jones: Mr. Radio by Janet & Geoff Benge š»
I really love the testimony that we should just following the Lord's leading. There were so many time where Mr. Jones faith was proved right though everyone tried to dissuade and discourage him from trying to start a radio station in Ecuador of all places. It was amazing to read how Clarence from a small station was by the Lord's provision able to expand the radio station to the entire world, thereby encouraging many throughout WWII. Oh, what one can accomplish not in our own might, but in the Lord's.

I love the Janet and Geoff Benge books, too! My family and I listened to the audiobook of the Douglas MacArthur one and really enjoyed it! I learned so much from it.
Oh, I love the books by Janet & Geoff Benge! So many good stories from history and about Christian people. Good job of deciding that not ALL non-fiction books are boring and dry. :D
You've got some great books here, Ellie!
