Book Adventures #2: A Noble Protector by Madisyn Carlin

Welcome! Will you join me for a walk down the blue-stoned halls of Alarch for a moment?

There are some good friends of mine that I would like you to meet!

First is my good friend Varrick Landreth, who I just coaxed to join our company for a short break from his official duties. Though I highly doubt we will be able to keep him from them for long, I am sure, you will find he fits the criteria of a good ruler in every way after only a few minutes. In all seriousness, he would be my first choice if it came to picking the older brother I never had. I feel safe with him in any sticky situation, and his steadfast faith to the Highest is an inspiration to all! His dedication to protecting anyone under his care (especially his siblings!) proves he's such a exceptional crown-prince, and I can't wait to see him ascend the throne.

Oh, and here comes his only sister Princess Elissy tripping down the hall (Don't tell her, but if I didn't already like Ellie as my nickname, I would be tempted to adopt hers😉!). She amazes me every day because though she has experienced great heartbreak, instead of growing bitter, she has allowed the Highest to make her absolutely beautiful inside and out. She can be a bit of a mother hen at times to those under her care, but I would say that is an even better reason for getting to know her! She is as loyal as they come.

Well, look who else had graciously joined us! The rest of the royal siblings must have the same idea. May I present ~ Strategical Walsh, Quiet Jude, Faithful Ford, Intuitive Arkyn, and Sensible Ewan. These brothers are a close-knit lot, but you always know where you stand with them. The kingdom of Alarch has never had a better royal family!

Wonders of wonders, but our pleasant stroll has taken us out into the palace gardens where Gwyn has been waiting for Varrick. Poor soul, she has gone through so much, but I am happy to say that she is still standing in the strength of the One who never fails. I think the fresh air is already working wonders, and she will be back to her kind, compassionate self in a matter of months!

I was trying to find Ulric, but I'm sorry to say, he isn't here at the moment. Maybe, we'll catch him next time! He's probably on official business for his own kingdom, but I think he'll be here later today. A certain someone makes sure he's never gone for long 😉 ! See you then!

I loved this sweet story so much. The author's descriptive writing style is so beautiful! A Noble Protector perfectly fulfilled and superseded my hopes for a Wild Swans Fantasy Retelling, 100%!
